Community Involvement

The doctors and staff of the Rochelle Veterinary Hospital love working with the people and pets of Ogle County and the surrounding communities.  We take pride in our clinic to make your pet comfortable and your visit a positive experience.  We rely on the support of this community to succeed, and therefore, look forward to giving back to them.

In order to help the community, we annually support several worthy causes.  For example, we are a proud sponsor of the From the Heart Gala, the RTHS Renaissance Program, a Rochelle Little League team, the Rochelle, Ashton-Franklin Center, Creston, and Oregon school districts, the Ogle County 4-H Fair, other Rochelle Community Programs, as well as many other non-profit organizations.  This year we donated silent auction items to Oregon FFA and various individual benefits.  As much as we would love to support everything, we do have to rotate, and do support as many fundraising efforts as we can.  Rochelle Veterinary Hospital staff also help out the local schools by giving pre-school tours, teaching small classes on pet care, and working with student groups or scouts to earn their requirements.  We are happy to support 4-H, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

To join in the community fun, we participate in the annual Holiday Lighted parade and even won “1st place Most Whimsical for Business” in the Garden Club’s decorate a bike contest.

We proudly work with the TAILS Humane Society, Granny Rose Animals Shelter, DeKalb County Animal Shelter, Winnebago Animal Shelter, and Friends Forever Humane Society to provide free initial exams after a pet has been adopted.

As the holding facility for the Rochelle Police Department strays, we have an adoption program in place.  Any animal not claimed by an owner, once examined by the doctor and appears to be healthy, goes up for adoption.  Adoption fee is $165 plus county tag, and includes the HWT or FeLV/FIV test, spay/neuter, flea treatment and heartworm preventative, microchip, and first vaccinations.

Overall, we are very excited to provide financial contributions and volunteer efforts to support this community.  Rochelle is a wonderful place to work and live, and we are so happy to be here!
